Schools Regional Competition, 2nd December 2007
With 6 of our members competing representing 5 schools in the Elite competition (including performers from grades 5 to 1!) we saw some excellent results in Harlow.
Hannah McCann (grade 2 performer), representing St Albans School in Hornchurch excelled in the under 11 group taking first place more than 3 whole marks ahead of the second-placed girl.
The under 13 girls group had both Ellie Clarke (grade 3 performer), representing Grays and Bethany Chambers (grade 4 performer) representing Coopers competing - only Ellie managed to get to the next round in third place but Bethany's 5th place was also an excellent achievement in this Elite group scoring 2 new personal best scores as well!
A similar story is to be told in the under 15 age group where Natasha Holme (grade 1 performer) from Anglo European and Chrissie Law (grade 3 performer) representing Brentwood School were competing. Natasha was a deserving winner but Chrissie scored a personal best first round score and was desperately close to doing so again in the voluntary to end in 4th place.
Gemma Phillips (grade 1 performer) representing Coopers was in the under 19 girls group where after lying joint 2nd after the set she performed a strong voluntary routine to take first place and 2 new personal best scores as well. Gemma also helped her school team get through to the next round in second place.
Their scores were as follows:
- Hannah McCann (under 11) 23.6 | 26.2 (49.8)
- Ellie Clarke (under 13) 23.6 | 27.5 (51.1)
- Bethany Chambers (under 13) 22.9 | 25.1 (48.0)
- Natasha Holme (under 15) 24.6 | 30.2 (54.8)
- Chrissie Law (under 15) 23.7 | 27.0 (50.7) ٭
- Gemma Phillips (under 19) 24.6 | 30.5 (55.1)٭٭
