Jumping for joy at lottery award
Brentwood Trampoline Club, which mainly draws its members from all around South Essex, were celebrating last week when they heard that their application to the Big Lottery Fund had been approved and that more than £9,000 was winging its way to them to spend on their new project.
Although Brentwood Trampoline Club does not run a waiting list, preferring to entertain potential members at its regular pay and bounce recreational sessions, it has become increasingly concerned to hear about the numbers of potential performers unable to join a club. It has therefore put together a project plan (called ‘No More Waiting’), in conjunction with the Brentwood School Sports Centre, which will provide up to 64 new training opportunities.
Club Chairman, Steven Nicholls, said “the first stage of the project is now completed and our funding is secured; the next stages will see us recruiting additional coaching staff and purchasing two new, state of the art, trampolines with all the associated safety equipment. This project will allow us to build on our success offering high performance coaching and ensuring performers achieve their very best potential.”
The club is planning for the project to be completed by January. Anybody interested in joining the club, either as a performer or coach, should contact the club secretary through the club’s website which is at http://www.brentwoodtc.org.
Brentwood Trampoline Club trains at Brentwood School Sports Centre four nights a week as well as many Sunday mornings (£5 pay and bounce) and is committed to having fun with a serious objective. For details call 01277 220722, pop in & see them in action some time (and possibly have a bounce) or maybe just have a look at the club's web site at www.brentwoodtc.org which contains full details of sessions, results and information about many other facets of trampolining.
