Club with Quality Mark
Brentwood Trampoline Club were proud to be presented with their GymMark plaque by English Gymnastics' Development Officer, Lynsey Palframan last week. GymMark is British Gymnastics' accreditation that assures existing and potential members that the club is well-managed offering a safe, effective & child-friendly environment - in short, that it is providing a quality service. GymMark is only awarded to those clubs able to demonstrate that they have strong, verifiable, processes in place to ensure that risks are managed, safety is enforced and that the club has a clear development plan to ensure forward progress for the club and its members. These plans are already delivering as 15 of the club's members aged 15 - 18 are about to train to become coaches in their own right allowing the club to take on many more members in future.
Pictured with a number of the club's members (ranging from beginners to GB internationals) are Lynsey Palframan and Dave Kingaby who helped the club's committee prepare for the accreditation exercise. Lynsey commented whilst presenting the plaque that "not only are Brentwood Trampoline Club one of the first 300 British Gymnastics' clubs to achieve this accreditation, but they are the first trampoline club to do so in Essex and one of only four in the whole of the Eastern Region - I offer my congratulations to you and your committee for this achievement and also best wishes to your members whose performances this evening I found most impressive".
The club trains at Brentwood School Sports Centre 4 evenings a week and often at weekends as well. Anybody wanting to learn more about trampolining, or possibly to arrange to pop along and try the sport out sometime, should either contact the club secretary on 01277 220722 or visit their website at www.brentwoodtc.org.
